A backorder or pre-order is an order that is placed while a book is still in press or while a book is being reprinted.
If an order for a book in press is placed, you may not receive the book for several months. (You can check the availability date of a book by finding its page in the online store.)
If you have chosen to pay for the book by a credit card or with a purchase order, your account will not be charged until the book is shipped. However, what if the price of the book goes up?
Do not worry about it: All titles you order will be billed at the earlier price at the time your order is received by us. That means that if the price of a book in press goes up after you've already ordered it, you'll still be billed at the lower price. That is our guarantee.
